About the Event

Colonial Heights THIS SATURDAY MORNING, AUGUST 21, from 10 to noon. (but especially at 10:30 AM).

This block party is being organized by Colonial Heights neighbors.

Be there at 10:30 AM when we will have an open discussion with city representatives and Mercy Housing personnel.

Where: 54th Street between 22nd Avenue and Stockton Boulevard

Background: Mercy Housing has planned a 200 unit affordable housing project in the old Jon's parking lot south of 22nd Avenue at 4955 Stockton Blvd. We are having a Block Party and have invited neighbors, city leaders, and Mercy Housing representatives. We will be discussing the impacts of the project on our neighborhood, and ways of working with city officials and Mercy Housing.

What's happening:

• Enjoy donuts and coffee! And hot dogs and soda! With neighbors (old, new and upcoming)!

• Meet representatives from the Mercy Housing development and City Councilmembers!

• Find out what's going on in our own "backyard"!

• Demonstrate unity!

• Make your voice heard!

• A vendor with Mexican fruit, snow cones and corn chips is likely to appear!

We're inviting people to speak at 10:30 a.m., starting with representatives from Mercy Housing, then people from the neighborhood, then council members.
